Israel is discussing the purchase of new helicopters from Italian firm Leonardo, through Elbit Systems Ltd. the subcontractor on the project. This is on condition of a reciprocal defence procurement between the two governments. Also in the bidding are US company Bell and European company Airbus. The deal is expected to amount to $350 million.
