Community Energy Labs has been awarded funding by the U.S Department of Energy Building Technologies Office for the 2021 BTO Lab CRADA call. Tanya Barham, CEO and Founder of Community Energy Labs, has been a powerhouse entrepreneur in the first Women-Led GovMarket Growth Accelerator cohort hosted by the Public Spend Forum in collaboration with the Shatter Fund.

As part of the U.S Department of Energy Building Technologies Office’s goal of decreasing carbon dioxide emissions, $8.6 million dollars have been awarded to 20 research projects that can protect the environment from further damage. With the funding, Community Energy Labs will work with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and ActiveBAS to create a scalable, cost-effective, and commercialized solution for small and medium-sized commercial buildings to reduce greenhouse gases.
