Jason Miller of Federal News Radio reports that since 2009, there have been 114 new regulations added to the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement. That number comes from an analysis by the Aerospace Industries Associations. About a third of those regulations came from Congress, the others from the White House. “The flow-down requirements are huge for contractors and subcontractors,” said Joe Fengler of AIA. “Over the last eight years, through the 5200 series guidance, the number of flow down requirements increased to 61 for companies and their supply chains. Companies are required to certify these requirements, and it’s a huge problem, especially when selling and buying on price.”
