Italy’s Economy Ministry has sent Parliament a draft ministerial decree for the “approval of a multi-year programme for the acquisition of Medium Altitude Long Endurance remotely piloted aircrafts,” writes The MediTelegraph. The Air Force is likely to buy the drones from Piaggio Aerospace and for a sum of 766 million euro. This is part of the allocation of a 47 billion euro investment and development fund set out in last year’s budget. The budget allocated to the Defence Ministry for “high-tech industrial activities to support exports” is 5.3 billion over 15 years. We wonder whether they listened to Public Spend Forum’s How To Buy Drones recorded webinar first!
