The UK Government’s Digital Marketplace is where public sector buyers go to find technology or people to deliver digital projects. Each month suppliers provide their invoiced sales figures to the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and the total value of sales are updated quarterly. Latest figures are out this week for the quarter ending March 31 2018. In terms of G-Cloud framework sales by value 83% were through central government and 17% were through the wider public sector. And 48% by value and 70% by volume, from all reported G-Cloud sales to date, have been awarded to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Oliver Dowden, Minister for Implementation said “I am pleased to announce that £3.63bn has been spent through Digital Marketplace with 46.6% going to SMEs.” There are also figures for Digital Outcomes and Specialists sales and Digital Services sales. Suppliers can apply to sell their services through G-Cloud. See the full announcement here.
