A set of civil service gender pay principles has been launched by the government of New Zealand. This follows a 2015 case brought by the Public Service Association against the State Services Commissioner, New Zealand’s most senior civil servant. They state that pay rates should be transparent, employment practices free from gender bias and the value of unpaid work recognised.
