Lancashire County Council in northwest England will re-evaluate its tendering process for public health services following a challenge from both Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust over the procurement process which awarded the contract for 0-19 year olds to Virgin Care. “The High Court ordered the council to set aside the decision after raising issues with record keeping during the moderation element of the process,” writes Local Gov. “The scoring and moderation stages will now be re-run with a new independent panel, which will make the decision over who will be awarded the contract.” The council are also paying towards the costs of the challenge raising some concerns that an ITT process can be elaborate and expensive for health authorities. Read the full story here.
