MEPs have approved new rules to strengthen the protection of whistle-blowers across the EU. The rules are intended to protect and encourage reporting of breaches of EU law, give whistle-blowers the choice of reporting either internally or externally, and safeguard them against reprisals from employers. This applies to areas including public procurement, financial services, money laundering, product and transport safety, nuclear safety, public health, consumer and data protection. Read more here.
