Accenture Federal Services is now responsible for providing IT services to eight Air Force bases in lieu of the Air Force pivoting enterprise IT-as-a-service (EITaaS) to commercial companies. The EITaaS initiative will provide basic IT infrastructure and services to free up Air Force service members to focus more on cyber missions.

This “Computer and Store” arrangement entails Accenture providing cloud computing and artificial intelligence support, according to an Air Force announcement.

The Air Force is more aggressively rolling out EITaaS to bases, as evidenced in a $76.3 million contract put out in February for up to 20 bases to transition to the EITaaS model.
