The UK Government has released a report looking into the gender pay gap in the public sector. It analyses the size and possible causes of the pay gap and finds that the gap is larger in the public sector than in the private and that a much higher pay gap exists at the top end of the earnings distribution. It looks at the drivers of the GPG, and takes into account varying factors such as age, demographics, size of firm, occupation, qualifications, and more, to get a full and balanced view.
