An article on LocalGov, from the University of Surrey, explores whether the PQQ can be considered a valuable tool for managing sustainability in the supply chain. It considers sustainability data captured down the supply chain, from public and private sector clients down to raw material suppliers. It looks at the types of sustainability information requested at each stage of the supply chain and asks whether they help meet the objective of building sustainable assets. It proposes three questions that should be asked at each stage, which cover: client to main contractor, main contractor to subcontractors and subcontractor to wholesalers and manufacturers. Beyond the basic sustainability requirements, most PQQ sustainability questions appear to be stuck in a feedback cycle, it says, and this it attempts to debug. Well worth a read – and you can do that here.
