‘Public’ is an organisation that helps start-ups to transform the public sector in any area, from healthcare, to transport, to cyber security. It brings together experience from the public sector, technology and finance to help start-ups solve public problems. Public has just launched GovStart, a six-month growth programme for start-ups based on the fact that now, more than ever, the government needs new, secure and scalable technology to meet the challenges posed by the pandemic, and it takes place in London and Berlin from October 2020.
So far it has worked with 36 companies from Pre-Seed to Series C across UK, France and Germany, and helped them close £16 million in government contracts and raise £53 million in investment.
The programme is open to any solutions that can be applied to the public sector, but particularly technologies that can help the public sector deal with the current challenges, including: Health Tech, Mental health, Future of work, Transport & Mobility and Prisons and Rehabilitation.
GovStart aims to help find routes to market and ensure start-ups are public sector ready, develop products and services to fit the market, make introductions to public sector decision makers and access government funding.
Deadline for applications is August 16 – read more here.
