An article in dronelife asks whether drones in ports and shipping are the next big market for the drone industry, as the UK’s Associated British Ports (ABP) moves from a drone pilot programme to drone operations. The ABP, PwC, Aerodyne Group project to use drones to bring value to asset and property inspections, has proven to have a significant return on investment.  According to a report, “Analysis and data collection from the flights has demonstrated considerable cost saving and benefits; operations were safer, 25% more cost effective; and took 55% less time compared to traditional methods for selected assets.”
