Increasing the number of awards made by local, state, and federal agencies to Small Business Concerns, and helping Government to efficiently identify viable small business partners is at the forefront of the alliance forged by Public Spend Forum’s GovShop and GovCon Club. In addition to informing small businesses about government requirements outsourced to Industry, the alliance empowers small firms to be more capable and competitive in bringing their expertise and innovations to government agencies.

Beginning today, small businesses can engage the resources of GovCon Club and GovShop through the joint membership program called Starter. Members of this program get access to both communities and are provided a suite of benefits that will very effectively support the learning and relationship objectives of novices and those with deep experience in Government Contracting.

“This is about helping companies committed to solving problems and getting them visibility to engage with stakeholders. The goal is creating an opportunity for them to demonstrate their capability and capacity to support Government agency goals,” offers Go-To-Guy Timberlake, co-founder, and chief executive visionary of GovCon Club. “Raj Sharma and I have been discussing an approach like this for several years. We decided it was time to do it.”

GovCon Club, the successor of The American Small Business Coalition launched in 2004, is a federal contracting-focused community providing curated education, training, and networking programs to individuals and organizations. Their signature program is the long-running Ethical Stalking for Government Contractors® Bootcamps, considered a must-have by novices and industry veterans alike.

GovShop is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled market intelligence platform and ecosystem for public sector market buyers and suppliers. With over 250 federal, state, and local government agencies using GovShop to search through 2 million traditional and non-traditional suppliers, agencies can quickly achieve competition, and suppliers of goods, services, and solutions get matched to opportunities through GovShop’s AI matching engine.

“Lowering barriers to entry for emerging and diverse companies is at the forefront of our mission to create open government markets. This partnership with GovCon Club allows us to provide innovative companies brand visibility, market data and the guidance at a very low cost — helping them succeed without adding to their already high cost of sales of doing business with the government,” said Raj Sharma, CEO & Founder of Public Spend Forum & GovShop, about this partnership.

Timberlake adds, “Emerging and diverse small businesses have made and continue to make great contributions to the U.S. Government across the Nation and around the world. Small companies are improving organizational performance, driving cost savings for agencies, increasing safety, and helping agencies make better data-driven decisions. What’s lacking is a holistic cultural appreciation and awareness of these contributions by government organizations and their leaders.”
