Comptroller General Gene Dodaro recommended to the Senate Budget Committee that Congress force agencies to rein in its improper payments. “The federal government really is not able to determine the extent of this problem or have a reasonable prospect that it’s managing it properly to reduce these improper payments,” Dodaro told the committee at the hearing. Dodaro also highlighted better management of information technology acquisitions among the 61 recommendations Government Accountability Office made to the Senate.
