The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has awarded a $500 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to CSRA for its milCloud 2.0. The first iteration of milCloud was rolled out in March 2014, but this one will be run by the contractor in a Department of Defense data center space. According to FCW, “The new iteration will provide infrastructure as a service on a scalable basis so customers pay only for the services they need at a given time. That is one of the cost-saving objectives of the new iteration. In addition, it is designed to serve as further proof of concept to broaden the future use of cloud technology by the DOD.”
