In an announcement yesterday at AWS’ Public Sector Summit, Teresa Carlson, VP of worldwide public sector for AWS, said that AWS GovCloud (US-East) would be operational in 2018 and will meet a “myriad of government customer compliance requirements, including FedRAMP, ITAR, DoD impact levels 2-4, IRS 1075 and others.” With government attitudes to cloud computing continuing to evolve, the location of AWS GovCloud (US-East) in close proximity to the DMV corridor may increase its attractiveness to government agencies that feel more comfortable being closer to the massive server farms hosting a growing percentage of the world’s data.

Wow.. that’s great. I am a big fond of Amazon web service. I have been using their managed cloud hosting server from the last two years through a third party hosting service provider named Cloudways. So, I am really happy to see the AWS growth for good.
