The Mercatus Center at George Mason University released its 50-state analysis of financial conditions where the study uses 13 metrics to analyze state finances based on five solvency categories. Florida’s government finances are in the best shape compared to other states, putting it at the top of the list. New Jersey, on the other hand, currently has the worst fiscal situation.
