Officials in Scranton, Pennsylvania approved a five-year agreement with Smart City Media LLC to install the interactive digital devices throughout the city. The project would bring digital information kiosks and free public Wi-Fi to downtown Scranton work is expected to begin as early as this spring. City council unanimously approved the agreement in June. In addition to the financial benefits and the Wi-Fi, the project will help get information out to the public, Councilman Bill Gaughan said. “I think we can better connect with the whole community,” he said. “Scrantonians can discover anything that’s going on as they’re walking down the street.”
