The publication notes that the recommendation follows a mandate from the White House to agencies to find internal efficiencies, though the “differences between the policy goals and legal authority of the Labor Department’s OFCCP and the EEOC make the two agencies less than a perfect fit.” The author reports a proposal to merge the two offices could come later this year.
