Federal IT reforms from the previous administration are starting to have an effect, but there’s a long way to go according to industry executives. The government saved about $7 billion during the 2017 fiscal year through a combination of closing and consolidating federal data centers and an adapt-or-perish review system for troubled IT projects, Robert Haas, a Hewlett Packard executive, said during a Professional Services Council market forecast. The Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act has also improved tech spending efficiency in government, Haas said.This report lays out and discusses key practices in green, sustainable public procurement and supports each of these practices with rich country-level case studies.
