The US city of Santa Clara has received a prestigious procurement award for the fifth consecutive year. The city has received the achievement for its purchasing policies and practices. The National Procurement Institute has recognised the city with an Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award in its 23rd year of annual awards. One of the ways the city proved to meet criteria was in its all-electronic use for bids, quotes and online surplus auctions, says The Signal. City clerk and contract service manager, said this strategy, “saves a lot of time for both staff and contractors.
