DoD Moves Deadline for JEDI Cloud Bids to October
The Department of Defense (DoD) extended the deadline of proposals for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) cloud procurement program to Oct. 9 after it made some changes to the solicitation. A FedBizOpps notice posted last week said the revised request for proposals includes the updated contract security classification, performance work statement/statement of objectives crosswalk matrix, and price scenarios. Bids were originally due Sept. 17 but DoD decided to push back the deadline after it received additional industry questions following the launch of another round of comment period for the revised JEDI cloud RFP. The Pentagon released the solicitation in July and plans to award a potential $10 billion sole-source contract for the JEDI cloud acquisition effort.
ManTech Awarded $668 Million CDM Contract
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded a $668 million contract to ManTech as part of its efforts to upgrade the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) cybersecurity program. The technology company secured the Group E contract of DHS’ Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) program and the company will provide cybersecurity services to nine federal agencies. “Government agencies are increasingly the target of sophisticated cyberthreats. We’re excited to support the CDM program to rapidly implement advanced cyber capabilities and secure the critical missions of our customers,” said Rick Wagner, president of ManTech’s Mission, Cyber & Intelligence Solutions group.
FEMA Overwhelmed by Hurricanes and Wildfires in 2017, According to GAO Report
According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the 2017 hurricane season was among the busiest it ever experienced in disaster response activities. Four disasters over the space of four months—Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and the California wildfires—created an extraordinary demand for federal disaster assistance. A recent Government Accountability Office report found that FEMA faced a number of challenges that slowed and complicated its response efforts to Hurricane Maria, particularly in Puerto Rico. DHS Issues RFI for Training Management System Procurement Effort
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is seeking information on potential contractors that can provide the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with an enterprise training management platform. The FedBizOpps notice says ICE wants a training management system designed to handle various training formats, course curriculums, accreditation requirements, evaluation, analytical, and reporting tools in support of the agency’s employees and contractors. ICE seeks potential contractors that can provide software licenses, operations and maintenance support; migrate legacy system records and data into the proposed TMS; and perform product customization, according to the statement of work.
