Green Tech Media reports that the U.S. Navy has made strides in lessening its carbon footprint and adopting green energy through “massive solar procurements, used submarine battery storage projects and microgrids on bases.” The site points to the recent opening of a solar farm in Arizona that is set to power one-third of the electricity required by 14 Naval bases in California. “The lessons learned through these projects — like how to corral third-party financing while facing constrained federal budgets — could apply to subsequent procurements throughout the federal government.”   Great story to read…
