With a changing acquisition environment, it is more important than ever for contracting professionals to drive new and innovative solutions. However, sometimes it can feel like our hands are tied by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements.  There’s a common saying in federal contracting: “if the rules don’t say I can’t do it, then I can.” The ability to pursue these permissible exercises of authority is vested in the FAR but not always accepted by the powers that be. This webinar is a primer on how to confidently exercise non-traditional and innovative contracting techniques that are legally sufficient and encouraged by federal acquisition policy.

This 90-minute, intermediate-level, live webinar is conveniently scheduled at noon (EDT). The webinar consists of a 60-minute lecture followed by a 30-minute question and answer period.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe and appreciate the inherent flexibilities bestowed to contracting professionals by the FAR Guiding Principles.
  • Recognize and categorize permissible exercises of authority across the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Develop techniques to support a business case that includes innovative, non-traditional contracting authorities.
CMBOK Competency: 3.4.4, “Laws and Regulations Relating to Government Contracts”
Upon completion, participants will receive 1.5 CPEs. Registered sites receive access to the recording for 30 days.
COST: $50 per NCMA member / $63 per non-member (25% off pricing for 4 or more)
NCMA is providing individual, rather than site-based, pricing for this webinar in support of social distancing.  To register four or more individuals email memberservices@ncmahq.org with company name, webinar date, and number of attendees.
