The Public Procurement Workforce Competency Model (PPWCM) is a result of the collaboration among many stakeholders across the public procurement community including at the federal, state and local levels. The PPWCM is also the result of nearly 4 years of work which was initiated and led by the Public Spend Forum, in collaboration with the Volcker Alliance and stakeholders from across academic, federal/state/local governments in the United States and experts from across the public procurement landscape. After the development of the initial model (version 1.0), Public Spend Forum engaged additional procurement leaders and worked with the NIGP and UPPCC to evolve the model to its current state.
