Building on our Barriers to Entry work over the past two years, we are excited to announce the launch of Barriers to Entry and Commercialization in collaboration with key university faculty
Here is the recorded webinar video:
As part of our goal to help accelerate innovation and scale key emerging technologies, we are kicking off a survey and a series of focus groups and Roundtables to understand and eradicate barriers that prevent innovative, emerging and underserved companies from either accessing government funding or scaling their solutions to have broader impact.
The Barriers to Entry and Commercialization (B2EC) initiative, in collaboration with faculty from NC State University and Arizona State University, aims to:
- Create a fact base to understand barriers and emerging solutions/approaches that enable easier access to government funding
- Understand barriers to commercialization and what types of interventions can address those barriers
- Identify and promote promising solutions/practices that can be scaled while creating policy imperative to drive additional solution
This initiative includes (1) an expansive survey of commercial providers, building on Public Spend Forum’s Barriers to Entry survey; (2) focus groups with experts, companies and leaders to dive deeper into specific issues and solutions; and (3) facilitated Roundtables and webinars for open discussion of ongoing research
Roundtable on February 15
To launch the survey and series, we will be holding a Roundtable with special guests (to be announced) to:
- Discuss specific issues/barriers identified to date through secondary research and discussions with leaders
- Provide an overview of the survey and focus groups
- Discuss opportunities for collaboration and getting involved
More details and speakers to follow. See you on the 15th!
